Ilima Considine is a queer Asian mom and multi-disciplinary artist based in Portland, OR. In addition to performing under the nom de guerre The Sexbots, she plays violin, cello, and bass and writes neoclassical soundtracks for film and modern dance companies. Her discography includes a dozen genre-bending albums. She has toured internationally and is a multiple alum of Really Spicy Opera's Aria Institute for Composers and Librettists.
Her debut feature film, Waiting for the Kick, was awarded Oregon Fringe Festiva’s 2024 Cinema Honorarium and streamed on Amazon Prime Video. Her work as a filmmaker is characteracterized by lush visuals, custom soundtracks, cross-gender casting, and focuses on genuine portrayals of women and non-binary persons without male gaze or the tropes based on male gaze while exploring issues such as sexual assault, the plasticity of memory, and the normalization of gender variance and gender fluidity.
